SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
On June 18, 2025, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that the ban does not violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, meaning states can prohibit medical treatments for transgender people, even if those treatments are legal for cisgender individuals.

L.E. v. Lee

On March 29, 2024, the district court ruled in favor of Plaintiff L.E. and found that Tennessee’s discriminatory Gender in Athletics Law violated L.E.’s rights by denying him the chance to try out for the boys’ golf team.

Williams v. Kincaid et al.
FOURTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS - CLOSED NOV 2023
Ms. Williams was a transgender woman who was subjected to unlawful mistreatment when she was housed within a male prison facility for 6 months, subjected to extreme harassment by guards and inmates, and denied access to hormone treatment. On August 16, 2022, the Fourth Circuit issued a landmark ruling finding that gender dysphoria is not excluded from the definition of “disability” under the ADA, and remanded the case for further proceedings.
